Level I Tavor SAR Armorer Course – 1 Day



This course is designed to familiarize Law Enforcement, Industry Professionals, and civilians in the basic maintenance, breakdown, and conversions for the Tavor SAR.

Students will attend one day for $150 for the SAR class. Upon successful completion of this class, the student will receive a: “Certificate of Completion of the Tavor SAR Armorers course” which would be for civilians who do not have FFLs. *If you would like to become a “Certified Armorer”, you must complete the two days of training and posses a valid FFL.

  • As a participant you will be given a brief history on the design, features and operability of the Tavor models.
  • Your instructor will go over in detail field disassembly, reassembly, part identification and function checks as well as the principle of operation.
  • Left-to-Right & Right-to-Left Conversions will be taught, practiced, and tested.
  • Basic repairs for commonly broken parts.
  • 9mm Conversions will be taught, practiced, and tested on the SAR.
  • In addition to the hands-on SAR tests, there will be a written exam at the end of the course.
  • Students will have access to discounts on IWI products and a discount on one weapon system.

Students who do not possess/work for a FFL are attending the class for personal training and information only.  Others in Law Enforcement, or working in the industry, will have the ability to become certified IWI US armorers.

What do I need to bring to the course?

Nothing, everything will be provided for you at the course. We’ll supply Tavor SAR’s to use as well as tool kits.

Is lunch provided?

Yes, IWI US will provide lunch.

Do I need a background check to attend training?

If you are an LE officer, have a current and valid CCW or FFL, no background check is required.  All others attending who do not fall into one of these three requirements will need to submit a background check through Sentrylink. Also, you do need to be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder to attend this class.

Can I keep any materials provided at the course?

You’ll receive an Armorer’s Manual, Conversion Checklist, and Barrel wrench at the start of the course that are yours to take home.

How do I pay for the course?

During the registration process, you will be asked to enter your payment information or voucher code in order to pay for the course. This payment is required to hold your place in the course due to class limits and the management of student / instructor ratios.

Refund/Reschedule Policy:

  • Cancellations: If you cancel no later than 30 days prior to the start of your course, your payment can be applied to a future course for up to one year. If you cancel within 30 days of your course start date, your payment is non-refundable. However, that balance may be applied to another course within one year.
  • Refunds: You can receive a full refund up to 30 days prior to the start of your course. Any amount over $250 is fully transferable or refundable if you cannot make the class for any reason, with or without notice.
  • Reschedule: You can reschedule up to 2 times without penalty. After that, you are no longer eligible to transfer your payment to a future course and your refund is forfeit.
