Tactical Pistol Course – 2 Day



This course focuses on the use of the pistol in practical defensive scenarios as it applies to individual defense of one’s self or family members. This course will focus on the individual use of cover/ concealment in the home and around vehicles. After a morning of review and work up, students will cover the topics listed below.

*This course requires a degree of physical exertion.  Light running, standing, kneeling and prone are part of the training curriculum.

Core Topics

Some of the many topics covered include:

  • Concealed presentations and manipulations
  • Variable distance and high/ low probability hit areas
  • Multiple target engagements
  • Methods of carry
  • Shooting on the move
  • Close contact engagements
  • Shooting around cover from various positions
  • Individual room clearing (daylight)
  • Night shoot (using various weapon mounted and hand held lights)
  • Night individual room clearing

This will be an intensive course requiring strict muzzle discipline.  Students who do not maintain the level of safety to conduct the class may be dismissed or not participate in certain exercises.

Students will have an opportunity to shoot IWI US firearms at the end of the course and receive discounts on an IWI firearm and discounts at the webstore.

  • Basic or Red Dot Pistol Course OR another reputable basic pistol course. Student must be proficient in the deployment of the pistol to attend.

Firearms Requirements:

  • Pistol and 3 high-capacity magazines or 5 magazines for magazines with 10 rounds or less
  • Holster, magazine pouch (student needs to carry at least 2 magazines on their person)
  • Suitable belt for holding a loaded pistol and loaded magazines

All students will be expected to have good quality pistols and holster systems.

Serpa and Nylon holsters will not be allowed for this training.

Ammunition Requirements:

  • 900 rounds of serviceable ammunition

What does the cost of registration cover?

Cost will cover the course only. The student is responsible for costs associated with travel, lodging, meals (unless otherwise indicated), firearms (unless a loaner is requested), ammunition, and personal gear.

Do I need a background check to attend training?

Yes, unless you have a current state issued concealed carry permit.

*If so, then you will need to upload a copy of your permit and driver’s license during registration in lieu of a background check.

I don’t have a concealed carry permit. How do I obtain a background check?

Sentry Link offers a National Criminal Background Check for a fee of $19.95 per report.

Once the report is obtained send the report to training@iwi.us to have it included with your registration packet. You can send the report via the “Share” button.

How do I pay for the course?

During the registration process, you will be asked to enter your payment information or voucher code in order to pay for the course. This payment is required to hold your place in the course due to class limits and the management of student / instructor ratios. Cost covers the course only (unless otherwise indicated). Students are responsible for costs associated with travel, lodging, meals, firearms (unless a loaner is requested), ammunition, and personal gear.

Refund/Reschedule Policy:

  • Cancellations: If you cancel no later than 30 days prior to the start of your course, your payment can be applied to a future course for up to one year. If you cancel within 30 days of your course start date, your payment is non-refundable. However, that balance may be applied to another course within one year.
  • Refunds: You can receive a full refund up to 30 days prior to the start of your course. Any amount over $250 is fully transferable or refundable if you cannot make the class for any reason, with or without notice.
  • Reschedule: You can reschedule up to 2 times without penalty. After that you are no longer eligible to transfer your payment to a future course and forfeit your refund.
