Prerequisites: Must have attended a basic sniper school with core knowledge of precision rifle techniques and long range shooting.

Course Information:

This course is designed to advance the sniper’s knowledge by providing insight and techniques in specific skill sets critical in high-risk situations. These elements include sniper/ spotter use and dialogue, shooting moving targets, sniper team coordination, simultaneous fire and use of the tripod with other means for stability.

This course may require some moderate physical activity.

Core topics that will be covered include:

  • Using a tripod and other means of support (fieldcraft)
  • Engagement of moving targets at different speeds and distances
  • Simultaneous fire
  • Holdovers for rapid engagements
  • Coordination and command and control of multiple sniper elements
  • Sniper spotter dialogue and use
  • Multiple rapid target engagements at varying distances
  • Multiple simultaneous target engagements

Firearms Requirements:

  • Quality precision rifle (with bipod) 6.5 or larger capable of shooting 1 inch or less at 100 yards consistently with a high-quality scope with 75 minutes of elevation or greater with mil dot reticle (recommended)

Ammunition Requirements:

  • 400 Rounds of high-quality match ammunition

Gear Requirements:

  • Seasonally Appropriate Clothing
  • Rain Gear
  • Hydration system
  • Hat
  • Boots/Hiking Shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Water Bottle (Suggested)
  • Hearing & Eye Protection
  • Spotting scope with variable power setting and tripod (a reticle is highly recommended)
  • Tripod should be capable of supporting the weight of a rifle
  • One piece cleaning rod, bore guide, jag, cotton patches, cleaning gear and copper solvent.
  • Bean bag/ shooting bag
  • Drag bag/ mat.
  • One spare magazine minimum (for those weapons with detachable mags)
  • Medium backpack
  • Sling for weapon
  • Notebook and pencil or write in the rain pen/pencil
  • Data Book

What does the cost of registration cover?

Cost will cover the course only. The student is responsible for costs associated with travel, lodging, meals (unless otherwise indicated), firearms (unless a loaner is requested), ammunition, and personal gear.

Do I need a background check to attend training?

Yes, unless you have a current state issued concealed carry permit.

*If so, then you will need to upload a copy of your permit and driver’s license during registration in lieu of a background check.

I don’t have a concealed carry permit. How do I obtain a background check?

Sentry Link offers a National Criminal Background Check for a fee of $19.95 per report.

Once the report is obtained send the report to training@iwi.us to have it included with your registration packet. You can send the report via the “Share” button.

How do I pay for the course?

During the registration process, you will be asked to enter your payment information or voucher code in order to pay for the course. This payment is required to hold your place in the course due to class limits and the management of student / instructor ratios. Cost covers the course only (unless otherwise indicated). Students are responsible for costs associated with travel, lodging, meals, firearms (unless a loaner is requested), ammunition, and personal gear.

Refund/Reschedule Policy:

  • Cancellations: If you cancel no later than 30 days prior to the start of your course, your payment can be applied to a future course for up to one year. If you cancel within 30 days of your course start date, your payment is non-refundable. However, that balance may be applied to another course within one year.
  • Refunds: You can receive a full refund up to 30 days prior to the start of your course. Any amount over $250 is fully transferable or refundable if you cannot make the class for any reason, with or without notice.
  • Re-Schedules: You can reschedule up to 2 times without penalty. After that you are no longer eligible to transfer your payment to a future course and forfeit your refund.
